This piece was created out of a curiousity about making a painting appearsoft like a blanket. The underpainting / raised aspect of this painting is inspired by my experience of learning to crochet. The tangles and ‘other side’. This became the boundaries for my process.

I sampled colours from a blanket handmade by my Great-Grandmother. Her crochet decided my colour palette. Using brushes sponges,I lightly merge colours.
